Microbiology Lab Technician- 2nd Shift

The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
+ Conduct Quality Control testing to determine quantity and quality of sample characteristics
+ Electronically capture, by means of thorough and clear documentation, all pertinent information required to verify the reliability of test results
+ Respond and react to the detection of testing anomalies and deviations in operation or procedure (performing instrument and method troubleshooting, initiating laboratory-based investigations, etc.)
+ Assist with reviewing and approving instrument outputs and test results containing mathematical calculations, graphs, charts, and narratives
+ Participate in routine instrument maintenance as assigned
+ Assist in execution of studies and protocols
+ Assist in training activities as assigned
Visual Activities: Must be capable of accurately discerning instrument read-outs or displays. Good color discrimination. + Bachelor?s degree is required.
+ Laboratory experience (preferably with quantitative and qualitative chemical or microbiological analysis)
+ Experience with instrumental analysis such as chromatography or spectroscopy (chemistry), rapid detection or microbial identification (microbiology) is a plus
+ Experience with a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is a plus
+ Experience with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) or Quality System Regulation (QSR) desired
+ Requires experience with operating common laboratory instrumentation and equipment (fume hood, pH meter, microscope, etc.)
+ Basic laboratory metrology (e.g. volumetric labware, analytical and top-loading balance, etc.)
+ Computer literate in Word, Excel and Outlook
+ Maximum lifting height 6 feet. Occasionally exerting up to 50 pounds and routinely up to 25 pounds. Standing for extended periods of time Environmental Conditions
+ ?As a rule, the Laboratory Technician is subject to controlled indoor conditions with some temperature change from occasional tasks outdoors or in the warehouse. Will be exposed to materials that are hazardous. Will be exposed to unpleasant odors (characteristic of chemistry and microbiology laboratories). Personal protective equipment is provided. Lab coat and safety glasses are required at all times when in the microbiology laboratory.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
